Dear friends of FEMNET,
Our local consumer behaviour has a global impact. We haven't only known this since the corona crisis. To date, social and environmental standards have not been met in global supply chains. This is especially felt by the seamstresses in the factories in India and Bangladesh. It is therefore important for us to sensitize consumers in Germany to these relationships, because what applies to the global market also applies to our use here at FEMNET - our actions on the ground work worldwide!
Last year, we reached more than 1,500 people with our educational events and workshops. We are continuing this success with our exciting online events this year. Our commitment to fair public procurement has also paid off. Last year alone, the city of Cologne procured 8,030 products with the help of our consulting project, taking social criteria into account.
And we are extremely pleased with one more number: With the Corona Emergency Fund, which is supported by the donations of numerous supporters, we have been able to help more than 5,000 seamstresses and their families in India and Bangladesh in these difficult times very concretely and directly. You can find out about the current situation of these people at September 15 in our webinar Take a picture where activists from both countries will report live.
Become active and thus work – our joint successes show that the commitment is worthwhile!
We cordially invite you to help shape and become active. It works!
A stimulating reading wishes you
Your FEMNET team
