Dr. Gisela Burckhardt
is the chairwoman of the board. She works as a development policy expert and campaigner. Her focus is on social human rights.
Our board of directors
FEMNET e.V. is currently represented by four honorary women board members who use their know-how from various professional contexts such as human and labour rights, development policy, sustainability, the clothing industry, education, media and public relations for the goals of the association.
Anna Burst
is an associate member. She studied textile engineering and actively campaigns for a better textile & fashion industry. Her focus is on textile knowledge transfer, gender equality and innovation.
Franziska Wiethold
worked full-time for the trade union verdi during her professional career with a focus on retail. She is now retired. With the help of the Femnet projects, she would like to support women workers from the textile and clothing industry in asserting their rights.
Aika-Maresa Fischbeck
is an assessor. She studied at the Faculty of Textile and Clothing Technology at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Mönchengladbach, completed her Master's degree in Trade & Retail and has been working in various positions in the FEMNET team for several years.
Elke Klemenz
is an assessor. At home in the textile industry for many years, she is passionate about education and public relations. She teaches from elementary school to university, explains risks and challenges from raw materials to the shop counter.
Lavinia Muth
is an assessor. With over 15 years of experience in sustainability work in the fashion industry and global agriculture as well as a background in compliance and auditing, she brings not only expertise but also a passionate conviction for change. Lavinia represents the 'Civil Society' in the Steering Committee of the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles.
Sabine Hartig
is an assessor. She has worked in development cooperation for over 30 years and now brings her extensive experience and knowledge from the producing countries to FEMNET.
