FEMNET Speakers Tour: Clothes Radio x IUMA Concert
Who makes our clothes? And under what conditions? What will change if women organize? As part of the FEMNET Speakers Tour, on 24 April, the anniversary of the collapse of Rana Plaza, we invite you, together with the Kleiderei Radio, Fair Trade, Fashion Revolution and with the support of Brot für die Welt, to an evening that addresses exactly these questions.
Hostess Anna Burst and journalist Carmen Maiwald talk to trade unionist Camelia Hasan, gender representative of the National Garment Workers Federation (NGWF), Bangladesh's largest textile union, about their daily lives: about labour disputes in the textile industry, about harassment in the workplace and about what changes when women unite. Personal, political, direct. The conversation will be recorded live in front of the audience as a podcast episode.
IUMA will then be on stage. Their songs tell of vulnerability, failure, and the feeling of sometimes not being able to do it alone. Above all, however, they are political – with a directness that remains.
