According to Johns Hopkins University, India now ranks third worldwide after the United States and Brazil. Job in the corona cases and deaths.Always many seamstresses are particularly affected due to the corona crisis. Existential threats, child labour and sexual exploitation are on the rise. Our local partners support workers in paying their bills and provide them with basic food. With the Corona Emergency Aid Fund, we are making an important contribution to this.

Many large export factories in Bangladesh are producing again. However, the overall capacity utilisation has not yet been reached and many seamstresses remain without work. At the same time, under the pretext of the corona crisis, labour rights are curtailed and trade unionists are dismissed.

After a short orientation phase, we positioned ourselves reliably and successfully tested various modules. In the summer semester, we have already been able to realize 12 online events in cooperation with students and teachers, and more are planned for the winter semester.

This question was asked by future administrative employees of the city of Hamburg in five workshops.
As part of the project ‘Good work fairbindet. Fair public procurement broaden’, a total of 100 second semesters of the University of Applied Sciences were further trained.
Shopping and supporting fair working conditions for textile producers and the environment is easy. The new edition of our flyer ‘Eyes on when buying clothes’ shows which seals stand for fair conditions in textile production.
Bonn. The corona crisis is burning glass-like, showing deficits in social and environmental sustainability in the supply chain of local fashion and retail companies. Instead of using the Textile Alliance as a platform for more effective, joint action by different actors and paving the way for more sustainable supply chains after the coronavirus outbreak, several business representatives in the steering committee are now threatening a blockade. A smart strategy for a sustainable future is different, say the civil society member organisations in the alliance.

In the wake of the coronavirus crisis, precarious working conditions in the clothing industry are becoming apparent. Redundancies and wage losses continue: Another 3,000 textile workers have been laid off from now on. They react with protest and a symbolic hunger strike.
