Our educational work should combine content-related expertise with a methodically demanding implementation. We regularly train both aspects. While last year we mainly dealt with content developments in our subject area, this year's training focused on the How implementation.

The Fairtrade Town Steering Group of the City of Gifhorn annually takes the Sustainability Days as an opportunity to present sustainability issues in the city – and also in schools. This year, four lectures on ‘Dirty Clothes’ took place at the Sibylla-Merian-Gymnasium in Meinersen, as well as at the Humboldt-Gymnasium, Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium and the Vocational Schools 2 in Gifhorn.

On 17 April 2024, the first clothes exchange took place at the Realschule Bobingen (RSB). More and more people are interested in sustainable consumption. Clothes exchanges offer an environmentally friendly and cost-effective alternative to shopping. One student reported.

More than 1,000 students gathered at the Education Campus in Heilbronn on 19 and 20 July 2023 to address the many aspects of the SDGs. It was danced, discussed and worked – always with the aim of awakening pupils’ commitment to their future.

Fast Fashion isn’t free. Someone, somewhere is paying.

Under this motto, a day workshop was held on 22 April 2023 for the confirmands of the Evangelical Church Congregation Bonn-Beuel. Self-critical reflections on fast fashion consumption and creative solutions are the results of this day.

On the 9th In December, FEMNET conducted the first city tour on the subject of climate & clothing. 27 students from Hildegard-von-Bingen-Gymnasium walked through Ehrenfeld and got insights into a fair fashion shop, a second hand boutique and the exhibition ‘What You Wear Matters’ in small groups.

In recent months, we have already been able to implement a number of workshops on climate and clothing in schools: From Bonn to Koblenz, from grades 7 to 11, we were active in AGs, project groups and in the class association. In the new school year, too, we are pleased to hold numerous educational workshops with students, to raise their awareness of the climate impact of the textile industry and to hold inspiring discussions with them on the importance and future of clothing and fashion.
